Bowenwork  (aka The Bowen Therapeutic Technique) is a gentle, soft-tissue body therapy aimed at inducing healing and restoring balance. A unique bodywork involving a series of gentle, rolling ‘moves’ which stimulate muscles and tendons via light touch over specific locations, Bowenwork balances energy and initiates muscle rebalancing and structural realignment. Like acupuncture, Bowenwork is a holistic, full body treatment conducted via the practitioner’s hands, instead of using needles.

Bowenwork is as powerful as acupuncture, as relaxing as massage, as balancing as cranial-sacral therapy, and as effective as spinal adjustments – all in one! Historically referred to as “The Bowen Therapeutic Technique,” and designed and perfected by Thomas A. Bowen (1903-1982) of Australia, Bowenwork is now taught to practitioners around the world.

Bowenwork is often referred to as ‘the homeopathy of bodywork,’ for each session addresses the body holistically from head-to-toe as well as at the body-mind level. Bowenwork is effective for many dysfunctions of the musculo-skeletal system as well as for chronic pain syndromes and neurological complaints including, but not limited to, frozen shoulder, low back pain, neck pain, disc-associated pain, strains, sprains, asthma, hayfever, stomach problems, urinary issues, headaches, hormonal imbalances, fertility problems, TMJ dysfunction, fibromyalgia, pain from Lyme disease, arthritis, and other issues inducing chronic pain syndrome.

Bowenwork triggers a restorative healing process at the cellular level and within the nervous system to melt away pain, restrictions and tension. It is safe and effective for newborns, the elderly, and for children and adults alike.

The Sessions

Bowenwork sessions last 45 to 60 minutes. The practitioner provides general corrective procedures tailored to one’s individual issues. The therapeutic effects of Bowenwork continues for several days after the session as one’s body integrates the work of the session and rebalances; each session stimulate a retraining of the body-mind to ‘reset’ and return to a more healthful state. Bowenwork is likened to rebooting the computer when it freezes or gets jammed.

Bowenwork offers optimal results when utilized in a series of five to ten consecutive weekly sessions. Dr. Frodermann is continually impressed with the healing effects experienced by Bowen clients.
